Lincoln Realtors raise funds for charities
Representatives from several Realtor offices in Lincoln participated in the Sixth Annual AmeriSpec/TNT Team-Building/Skills Challenge at Spikes Beach Bar & Grille on July 24.
Realtors and their staff members competed for the coveted Grand Champion Prize, with 100% of the event’s proceeds going to charities.
The event challenged teams in non-traditional ways such as BIG Foot, Soap Box Tug of War. The highlight of this year’s team-building/skills challenge was a bicycle assembly challenge, where trivia questions were answered to obtain individual components of bicycles that were then assembled under timed conditions. Once assembled, the bicycles went through a thorough inspection process. The completed bikes were donated to the MAD DADS (Men Against Destruction, Defending Against Drugs and Social Disorder) organization in Lincoln to support their bicycle program for fifth-grade children in need.
The last event, the four-team Tug of War challenge, determined the event’s champions. The HOME Real Estate – North office finished on top for the second straight year, edging out the runner-ups from team SellState Performance.
Each team that participated in the event was allowed to pick from a list of non-profit organizations that support Lincoln as their charity of choice. Half of the proceeds were awarded to HOME North, who named the Lincoln Homeless Coalition as their charity of choice.
The runner-up team from SellState Performance sent their 25 percent of the proceeds to their charity, the Childs Advocacy Center of Lincoln.
Overall, Lincoln Realtors raised more than $1,300 for their charities.
