AmeriSpec Omaha and Lincoln has received the 2016 Sherrye Yuan Award for its contributions to AmeriSpec’s corporate “Go Pink” initiative, owner Tom Sutko announced this week.
AmeriSpec and its 180 franchises in North America participate in the Go Pink initiative every October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiatve was launched to honor Sherrye Yuan, an AmeriSpec corporate employee who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2014.
For every inspection conducted in October, AmeriSpec Omaha and Lincoln donates $25 to Komen Nebraska.
“Since that Go Pink initiative was launched by headquarters, we’ve donated nearly $23,000 at the local level toward the fight against breast cancer,” Sutko said.
Participation in this initiative is part of AmeriSpec Omaha and Lincoln’s ongoing Partner in the Community efforts to serve the industries and markets where they do business.
“Thanks to all of our employees for believing and, more importantly, supporting our efforts to make a difference in the communities we serve,” Sutko said. “This is a true TEAM award.”
