Home Inspector Assistant

Currently, we’re looking to hire a new inspector apprentice and we’re offering a $250 finders fee bonus.  We prefer that candidates have knowledge of or experience in the construction industry. They should be results-oriented, dependable and hard-working with great communication skills. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.  Inquire within regarding the bonus.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      (Includes the following, with other duties assigned as needed):

  • Work closely with Certified or Senior Inspectors to learn the essentials of the home inspection process
  • Work closely with Certified or Senior Inspectors to learn the essentials of the home inspection process
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with area real estate agents
  • Complete AmeriSpec Technical training, either in Memphis or in field training under direct supervision
  • Become a candidate or provision member of a National Home Inspector Association, such as ASHI or NAHI
  • Develop the ability to independently perform a home inspection
  • Learn basic computer skills,  support team marketing efforts
  • Perform other home inspection related duties as assigned
  • Perform home inspections under the supervision of a Certified or Senior Inspector

Education and/or Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months experience as an AmeriSpec Junior  inspector; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language  and Mathematical Skills:

Must have good communication skills, the  ability to  comprehend  instructions,  write simple correspondence., effectively present information in  small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Must also be able to add/subtract, multiply /divide, measure volume, distance and U.S currency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required manually manipulate, adjust, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is also regularly required to talk and/or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
